Trunk
30 x 20 and it’s original.antique, steamer, storage, patina, leather. Has wheels. Passed from generations. Only one owner and came all the way from germany. Sold by Todd Lang's mother. This 1920s Cabin Case was carried on the Holland America Line and has the original stickers from that era. The key lock has been removed but the metal/buckles still allow the case to be closed. The case has a black skai lining on the outside. On the inside the case is lined with paper which was common at that time. each Dimensions: 56 deep, 105 wide, 58 high (flap closed) 105.5 high (flap open) cm. This handsome trunk is a wonderfully unique piece, finding it's way over to the UK from New York. The original brass tag says Herald on it - and in tiny writing above it says 'Macy's Own Brand'. There is also a red label stating that this is a genuine vulcanized Trunk Fibre Binding made by Taylor Corporation (patented by Englishman Thomas Taylor in 1865).The brass locks, corners and studding combined with the dark green really make this a stylish piece of luggage and it is also very functional . Great for storing blankets, towels, clothes, toys etc and also it's size and flat top make it such a great piece of furniture. The inside of this trunk does not disappoint with its blue and white paper lining mostly in tact and it still retains its interior lift out tray. The brass clasps are in working order - it is just the lock and key that are missing. It is a heavy duty trunk and in it's original condition with strong weight bearing leather handles and a solid sturdy brass interior hinge. The outside though in a good vintage condition does have scratches and scrapes (please study photos) as you would expect of a trunk that has travelled across the world over the last 90 plus years.
